Covered Pontoon Swamp Tour

Set out on a 20,000-acre tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your covered, flat-bottomed boat glides through the shallow marsh at an easy pace, with a fully narrated tour by a local guide pointing out the wildlife along bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees.

Expect plenty of alligators in the warmer months, some sunning on logs. Your guide may even feed the gators. The tour ends back at the dock, where you can visit our indoor alligator exhibits, including Sugar, our albino alligator.
